Local Facilities - Cwmbran
Cwmbran is a modern town situated in a large valley 20 miles north-east of Cardiff the capital city of Wales.
It boasts one of the largest pedestrianised shopping centres in South Wales, with a large variety of fast food restaurants, banks and retail stores, all of which are undercover. The town centre also has over 3000 free parking spaces.
The recreational facilities include three public leisure centres, each with their own swimming pool and sports hall. Cwmbran stadium is an international standard athletics stadium, which over the past years has hosted many major events. Facilities included are a gym, conditioning room, Olympic size swimming pool, 400m running track, sauna, Jacuzzi and racquet sports.
Esporta is a private health club which offers a salon, spa, sauna, pool, aerobic classes, fitness room, weights gym and café® If you are interested is golf then there is a nine-hole 'pitch and putt' course at Llanyrafon and a full 18-hole course at Greenmeadow.
Transport:
Cwmbran has a bus station with regular links to Newport and Cardiff. The train station also has regular links to Newport and Cardiff and an hourly train service to London operates from Newport.
